I guess that means Summer is officially over. A big storm is coming in to the west coast, and is supposed to dump large amounts of rain. Not terribly cold, but cold enough to warrant a fire. There is nothing like wood heat to warm the old bones.

We are gearing up for the same storm, Mango. We have enjoyed sunsine for weeks, but I have a feeling we won't see the bright ball in the sky for a while.
Looking a this picture, I feel like I'm there with you as we celebrated last Christmas. It's a wonderful fireplace!
i finally broke down and had PG&E come turn on my gas heater... it's now a warm and toasty 60 degrees at night instead of 52. yay!
